Hi, My name is Ben,

I live in Canberra, Australia with my beautiful wife: Becca and 2 gorgeous girls: Madelyn (7) and Isabelle (4).

I originally put this site together as a means to keep my friends and family informed on my progress as I trained for the 08 Canberra Half marathon. Well the half marathon came and went and finished it in under 100mins (1:37:35 to be exact) Not bad for my first attempt :)

As I talk about fitness, health and nutrition all the time I thought I might as well write it down in a blog. My mates totally agree that when it comes to fitness: once you get me started, it's hard to shut me up. I just get so juiced about everything to do with fitness: new workouts, core stability, strength training, and running (especially running). I love learning new stretches and applying different techniques to existing exercises to mix it up and keep it fresh. I'm very curious about the human body - I love finding out how each contracting muscle moves one bone closer to another and how your skin, eyes, brain and heart all work together as part of an integrated system. I want to know what happens when you're feeling sick or sore. What it takes to build muscle and what it takes to break it down. If I get injured - I want to know exactly what happened and what I need to do to rehab it. I love sharing the information I've gained - or more specifically the info that's been really beneficial to me personally.

I run and workout with mates on a regular basis. I always encourage them to push themselves harder and further than they've gone before. I want to help them unearth that 'something' deep inside themselves, that 'something' they never thought they had. I love running with them. I mean it's great to hang out but nothing beats trashing yourself when you're both pushing each other to the limit on a long hard run.

They get motivated because I am. They see results, realise the benefits and gain personal momentum to push themselves even harder. This motivates me and has a mega flow on effect - everybody get's juiced! Their reward: increased fitness, motivation and self confidence. My reward: increased fitness, motivation and the deepest sense of satisfaction knowing I've had a positive impact on someone else's life!

I've had the opportunity to meet, learn from and train with some of the most incredibly fit people around. I want to share those experiences and the knowledge that I have gained. I want to let people know what I did to lose over 20kgs and what I'm doing now to keep it off.  I want to show everybody that it is possible to achieve your goals if you really put your mind and body to it - I want to inspire people to start their own fitness journeys (if they haven't already) and I guess this site is the best way to do that.

Join me to become a fitter, stronger and healthier person - knowing that sometimes it's gonna hurt but also aware that the end result will be well worth the effort!
